When I was a kid, I watched a lot of TV shows with my mother. I was always really into black and white television shows like Gilligan's Island, The Munsters, and I Love Lucy, but there was also the occasional episode of Frasier. When I was younger, I really only watched Frasier because of David Hyde Pierce, who, in my opinion, is freaking adorable, but about two weeks ago, they put Frasier on Netflix instant, and now that I'm old enough to understand all the jokes (made all the better by the fact that I'm a Literary Studies major), the show is twice as hilarious as it used to be.

Now, before I delve into just how much I love Frasier, I should start by saying that I never watched Cheers, a fact The BF finds blasphemous, since I'm such a fan of Frasier, but there was always something appealing about Frasier that just wasn't appealing about Cheers, and I'm not sure why. I never watched Cheers, so I'm not sure if it has the same kind of intelligent humor that Frasier does, but I think that's what I love most about the show.

While Niles is definitely my favorite character in the show, I love how completely complicated Frasier is. He has this view that he deserves the best in life, and that he just might be better than everyone else, and yet he feels the need to protect people's feelings for the sake of their "mental health". He is always so level-headed until something causes him to snap, and then his outrageous anger is nothing short of hysterical.

If you've never watched Frasier, I suggest you get right on it. The fantastic relationship between Frasier, Niles, and Martin is just priceless. Happy viewing!

Hey, I just found out you're back in blogland. And by coincidence the first post I find from you is about Frasier. Yay!
I loved the show in the nineties. I still remember how hard I laughed when Niles comes out of the bathroom covered in shaving cream feeling "a little hot...and foamy."
I started rewatching it again a few weeks ago, too. But you really should go back to Cheers. It's on Netflix, too. Cheers is a different kind of show than Frasier, but still hilarious.
I just watched that episode this morning! It was hilarious!
I'll probably end up going back to Cheers eventually.
